Hurricane product range expands

The Hurricane brand has been growing, from 90 stocked lines in 2005 to over 160 stocked lines in 2007, many of the existing product categories have been expanded (e.g. saws  & pliers) to include various specialized items. We have also opened up some totally new categories (e.g. Building equipment, utility knives, tool bags & belts). Much of this expansion has been through the request of our customers who have recognized the quality and affordability of the Hurricane brand and the value that it can add to their business. We will continue to work with our customers to identify possibilities for further growth to meet there customers needs and market trends.

A-Kraft spanners withstand bulldozer

One of our dealers in the Klerksdorp area approached a buyer from a mine to sell them our socket sets, the buyer being an ex mechanic was quite taken by the look and finish of the product but being a "rough & tough" kind of guy he insisted on testing them. The salesman, thinking that the buyer would simply give a spanner and socket to one of the mechanics to try out had no objections. The buyer told the salesman to follow him down to the workshop where he proceeded to lay the spanners out in a line on a concrete slab, he then jumped into a steel tracked bulldozer and simply drove over the line of spanners, the salesman thought he must have lost the sale, no spanner, no matter what brand, could withstand that kind of abuse. The buyer climbed off  the bulldozer with a cheeky smirk on his face, walked around the back to take a look at the damage he had caused only to find a row of spanners in perfect working order, the only one that was bent was a 17mm, and that only slightly. Needless to say the salesman got the sale and many more subsequently.
